i can't escape my obsession with maps. once again it is where i find myself in exploring ideas for my final painting. recently, i've been having so many conflicting and mind boggling thoughts about visual language and artistic process and i have come to the conclusion that it is something that just happens and the less you think about it, the more it comes out. sometimes you just have to let go and let things happen naturally. so rather then fight this visual interest, i am going to work with it and through it. if that means painting maps in 1000 different ways then so be it. the possibilities are endlessss, literally !
i have been trying to pull myself away from the computer screen for 20 minutes but my research continues to lead me to new places and now i find myself sketching. i may be getting ahead of myself being that my current painting is in its first layer. its crunch time.
